To get the best results and minimise any side effects, please follow these steps in the lead-up to your treatment:
7–14 Days Before:
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, high-dose Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, St John’s Wort).
- Let us know if you’re on prescription blood-thinners.
- If prone to cold sores, contact us — antiviral medication may be recommended.
- Avoid other facial treatments (peels, microdermabrasion, Botox) within one week of your appointment.
- Reschedule if you’ve recently been unwell or had a vaccination.
3–7 Days Before:
- Avoid sunbeds and limit direct sun exposure.
24 Hours Before:
- No alcohol.
- Avoid intense exercise, saunas, or extreme temperatures.
- Start any prescribed antiviral medication (if applicable).
On the Day:
- Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face.
- Eat a light meal beforehand.
- Inform us of all medications, supplements, or recent health changes.
Sunekos is a gentle yet powerful treatment designed to revitalise your skin from within — but like all injectables, it’s important to know what’s normal.
During the Treatment:
- The treatment involves a series of small, superficial injections using a very fine needle.
- Most clients find it very tolerable — you may feel a slight pinch or sting with each injection.
- The session typically takes 30–45 minutes.
Immediately After:
- You may notice small raised bumps at the injection sites — this is completely normal and typically subsides within a few hours.
- Mild redness, tenderness, or swelling may occur and usually settles within 24–48 hours.
- Bruising is possible, especially if you’re prone to it.
Over the Next Few Days:
- Your skin may feel slightly firmer or plumper as hydration increases.
- Any swelling or redness will continue to settle — use gentle skincare and follow your aftercare instructions.
Long-Term Results:
- Sunekos works by stimulating collagen and elastin, so results appear gradually.
- Most clients see noticeable improvement in skin texture, tone, and elasticity over 1–4 weeks.
- For best results, a series of treatments (usually 3–4 sessions spaced 7–10 days apart) is recommended.
24 Hours after Sunekos Treatment:
- Allow your skin to rest and do not apply makeup for at least 12 hours
- Avoid having a massage or anything that applies pressure to
the treated area - Avoid touching the treated area to minimise the risk of infection
After treatment on or around the lips:
- Do not drink very hot or cold beverages whilst numb
- Avoid touching the lips
- Avoid using old lipsticks/balms that may contain bacteria
- You can prevent or treat swelling with cold compresses or ice packs.
2-3 Days after Sunekos Treatment
It is recommended to avoid:
- Swimming or strenuous exercise
Exposure to extreme cold or hot temperatures (<0°C - >40°C) - Having a massage or anything that will apply prolonged pressure to the area treated
- Using any active skincare
2-4 Weeks after
Sunekos Treatment
It is recommended to avoid:
- Direct sun and UV light exposure
on the treated areas - Using a sauna or steam bath
